Chad Evitts is announcing his candidacy for North Central Telephone Cooperative’s Board of Directors for the Hillsdale and Green Grove exchanges (633 & 655).
Evitts is a graduate of Trousdale County High School and resides in the Cato community with his wife, Leslie, and two daughters Ellie Mae (6) and Lila Kay (10 months), where they attend Long Creek Missionary Baptist Church.
Evitts holds a degree in Animal Science from Tennessee Tech, where he played football and later signed a free-agent deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He has also been inducted into the TTU Sports Hall of Fame.
For the past 13 years, he has worked construction and farmed, and is currently employed with the Tennessee Department of Agriculture.
“One thing I learned from my time playing football is the importance of a team and that each member has an important role on that team,” Evitts said in a statement. “If elected, I will serve on the board for the members in my exchange, for the employees to ensure they are treated fairly, and for the cooperative itself.”
Early voting will be from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. at the Hillsdale Lodge on Thursday, Nov. 2. Regular voting will be at NCTC’s annual meeting from 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at Macon County Junior High School on Saturday, Nov. 4.
“Thank you for considering me, and if given the opportunity to serve you, I will be a devoted director to you all,” Evitts said.
