A broom, mop with a cause
Looking for a new broom or mop? How about one that can help improve eyesight or hearing?
Buying a broom or mop from the Hartsville Lions Club does just that!
Purchasing the $12 broom or mop from the Lions Club will help provide Trousdale County residents with eyeglasses; hearing aids, in conjunction with the MD12-S White Cane Charity; eye screenings to Trousdale students and college scholarships to a TCHS senior.
"Our brooms are from Ed Lindsey Industries for the Blind, Inc.," said Lion Janice Scruggs. "Their blind employees are very proud to present their products, especially to Lions Clubs.
"ELIB was formed in 1982 by the Lions Clubs of District 12-I to provide training and employment opportunities for people who are blind."
On sale are 100 percent corn broom with a 42" clear lacquered wood handle, and the mop is a 32 oz. cotton cord when wet.
The cotton cord is made of blended cotton that is very absorbent durable material with larger strands for larger jobs added Scruggs.
Brooms and mops can be purchased from any Hartsville Lions Club member until Feb. 15.
