Billy Wayne Oliver was born on Aug. 29, 1942, in Macon County, to the late Marlin Oliver and Mazie Gann Oliver. He was one of 10 children born to this union.
Billy married the late Carol Jean Farley Oliver on Oct. 13, 1962. Together they were blessed with one daughter. Billy was also blessed with one stepson.
Billy worked as the manager of the Hartsville Foodland store until his retirement in 2014. When he was not working, Billy enjoyed going fishing. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family.
On Sept. 22, 2018, at the age of 76, Billy Wayne Oliver was called to his Heavenly home. Because of his testimony of salvation, Billy is rejoicing with his savior, Jesus Christ. He will be dearly missed by all.
He is survived by: daughter, Penny (Randy) Slayton; stepson, Gary Farley; two grandchildren, Michael (Tabitha) Slayton, Tonya (Jason) Dixon; two step-grandchildren, Perry Farley, William Farley; two sisters, Idelle Loftis, Edna Edwards; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, Sept. 26, from the Chapel of Alexander Funeral Home with Brother Michael Slayton and Pastor David Spears officiating.
Interment followed in the Fairview Cemetery.
