Norma Jean Oglesby, age 84, of Hartsville, passed away Friday, Feb. 7, 2020 at NHC Place Sumner.

Jean was very family oriented. Early in her work life, Jean drove the van for Mid Cumberland Human Resource Agency escorting elderly residents. She returned to nursing school late in life and was a nurse at Quality Care Nursing Home in Lebanon for the 22 years of her career. She was devoted to her elderly patients and had a passion for reading.

She was preceded in death by: parents, Olie & Gracie Brown; husband, Billy Frank Oglesby; three brothers, Conway, Wallace & Roy Brown.

Survivors are: two sons, Bill Oglesby of Bethpage, Jeff (April) Oglesby of Hartsville; daughter, Terri (John) Crutcher of Bethpage; five grandchildren, Kristin & John Oglesby, Sarah Johnson, Brittney (Jordan) Affourtit & Dylan Warner; three great-grandchildren, Jaycie, Madisyn & Landon Affourtit; three sisters, Helen Sloan of Bloomington, JoAnn (Jesse) McLevain of Mt. Juliet, Dean (Prentice) Smith of Carthage.

Memorial services will be held in the chapel of Anthony Funeral Home at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, 2020 conducted by Bro. John Crutcher and Bro. Jimmy Crabtree.

Interment will be in Hartsville Memorial Gardens.

The family expresses appreciation to all caregivers at home and at NHC Place Sumner during her illness.
