NASHVILLE — Former Cumberland linebacker Justin Ely helped lead the Nashville Storm’s defense to a 10-7 win over the Asheville Grizzlies in the NAFL Southern Conference championship game Saturday at McGavock High School.
Ely and fellow linebackers Nathaniel Claybrooks (who played at Middle Tennessee State) and Antuian Bradford (Vanderbilt) helped limit Asheville to 138 yards total offense as Nashville (12-1 in NAFL play) advanced to the NAFL semifinals in Camden, N.J. this coming Saturday against the South Jersey Lynx (13-0).
Former Lebanon High tailback Antwan Ross is also a member of the Storm.
